This month’s AQAA meeting will focus on Test LifeCycle Management (TLM) as a best practice for test automation. Our speaker, Art Trevethan, will talk us through why quality is more than testing, and how the application of best practices in your test planning phase will create tremendous efficiencies in both manual and automated testing. While there is such a thing as exploratory testing on the manual side of the house, automation is different. Planning is more than necessary to the success of an automation effort, it is critical. This session will describe and discuss test management as a best practice for the test automation effort and its impact on the success measures of the QA effort.

Mr. Trevethan is based out of Austin, TX where he acts as the Chief Evangelist for SmarteSoft. He often gets asked what that means, and replies with “I get to go out and talk to people about what they are doing to ensure quality in their applications and learn about what the industry is going.”

Having been involved in several startups and large corporations, Mr. Trevethan brings years of experience in software, management and quality assurance to the table in his role. His quality career started with Lucent technologies in the mid 90’s, with his experience with software and start-ups dating back to the late 80’s. Mr. Trevethan’s clients include household names like America Airlines, The American Red Cross, Pizza Hut, Department of Homeland Security, Department of State and many others. Most recently he has been delivering a message of best practices to an industry that has a great need for such. Traveling the world to spread the message, Mr. Trevethan has given presentations to groups both small and large from India to the US and many locations in between.
